Verse Day: Promises

Matthew 7: 7-8
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Genesis 9:13-15
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Verse Day

Here is my verses for verse day. I will be doing verse day on Tuesday. Thanks Bethany for the great idea!! Well here are the verses:

Psalm 8
1. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 3. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;4. What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5. For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet;
7. All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8. The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.9. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is t…

No Reserves, No Retreats, No Regrets

William, at his birth in 1887, was the heir of a million dollar family fortune. He came to Christ at an early age. William went to Yale University. He renounced the fortune so he could become a missionary to the Muslims in China. One friend exclaimed that William was throwing away his life. To this William wrote in his Bible "No Reserves". After Yale he was offered many jobs. He turned them all down. He added the words "No Retreats". In 1812 he set sail for China. He had to stop in Egypt to study Arabic. After four months there he contracted spinal meningitis and within a month he was dead. He died at the age of 25. On the back page of his Bible was found two more words, "No Regrets". When his life was over he could say,                                                   "No Reserves, No Retreats, No Regrets."

Recently I have been reading The Dragon and The Raven. It is a really interesting book. It is by G. A. Henty. It is about a boy during King Alfred's reign. At some points it is a little gruesome. I have also been crocheting. I needed to practice my stitches so I started making bookmarks. They are really simple and fun to make. Well here are the pictures:

A week ago it snowed a lot. We got about 10 inches of snow! Here are some pictures that I got while outside. Enjoy!
  The snow is really pretty at the beginning but after having it snow and keep on snowing it gets pretty tiring. I am really ready for spring to come. What about you?
