You are a Warrior // Repost

Today I want to re-post a blog post from a brother in Christ. I was greatly challenged by this and want to share it with you all. Oh, that we would be vigilant and diligent in this war that we are in. That we would not let our guard down, but that we would continue moving forward in God's power.

Meditations // Jeremiah 1:6-8

"Then I said, 'Ah Lord God! Behold I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.' But the Lord said to me, 'Do not say "I am only a youth" for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,' declares the Lord." --Jeremiah 1:6-8
In this passage God commands Jeremiah to speak to the people on His behalf and what does Jeremiah do? "I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth." This wasn't an easy task, nor would it be a fun task, or a task where the people would love him, it was a difficult, uncomfortable hard task. Jeremiah thought himself too young. Jeremiah didn't think that God could use him because of his age. But what does God say? That HE would be with Jeremiah, give him the words to say, and deliver him. God doesn't just command him to do something, he also gives us promises to go with that command.

How often are we commanded to do something, and we instead think of excuses - "I'm too busy!", "I'm too young!", "Too hard!", "I don't have the resources", etc...? Do you put yourself in a box because of your age or your personality or your resources or your strength/energy? This life wasn't meant for our comfort. This life wasn't meant for our ease. This life wasn't meant for our enjoyment. This life was given to us to prepare for eternity. It was given to us to glorify God and serve Him and love Him with everything in us. We aren't our own, we have been bought with a price (1 Cor 6:19-20). We were created to for God's glory, and we are here to glorify Him with everything we do and say and think.

Remember that our God is the God of impossibilities. He can anything and everything He wants. Nothing is too big for Him, and with God on our side, we can do all things because He gives us His strength. In our weakness, His strength is perfected. In our failures, He wisdom is shown. He doesn't give us hard commands and then leaves us, He goes with us every step. So press on, fellow soldiers. Don't give up. Face the next temptation in God's strength, relying on His promises. Fight the next battle in God's strength, relying on His promises. Confront the next impossibility in God's strength, relying on His promises.

"For God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of power, and love, and self control." --2 Timothy 1:7
"I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." --John 16:33
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." --Philippians 4:13

The other day Bethany and I ventured out to get some new photos for her. We found this really cool-looking church building for our background. Thanks so much for letting me take pictures of you, Bethany! Love you, sister! <3

Liebster Blog Award

I was tagged a while ago - Thanks Kaitlyn! =))

The Rules:
-Link back to the person that tagged you
-Answer the eleven questions.
-Tag eleven bloggers, and let them know you tagged them.
-Ask your tagged bloggers eleven questions.

1: What is your favorite hobby? My favorite hobby...only one? I have so many favorite hobbies. One of them is reading. I really like reading. A lot.

2: What does your first name mean? My first name is a variation on the Greek word "Charis" which means grace. In fact, I was almost named Charis.
3: What is your favorite family memory? My favorite family memory...I have so many - the laughter, the conversations, the trips...
4: What's your personality type? Umm...I don't have one... I've taken so many personality tests multiple times each and never get the same type. I'm always an I but the other three letters always switch.
5: If you had the opportunity to have a 4-course meal, all with foods you choose, what would the meal consist of? Hmm...I'd have to think about that question... :P
6: Would you rather have a pet dolphin or a pet bear? Probably a pet bear because a dolphin wouldn't be too helpful where I live.
7: What's one random thing about you that few people know? I'm an adventurous person...but I don't come across that way to most people...
8: What's your favorite holiday? Hm, either Independence Day or Thanksgiving Day.
9: What quote (from a book, movie, or YouTube video) do you find yourself saying often? I have lots of quotes that I say. :P
10: If you could live in any other previous time period, which one would you choose? Oh, this is a hard question! It'd be so neat to leave in Medieval England, but then again I'd like to live during the cattle drives...
11: If you could see yourself from someone else's perspective, who's perspective would you choose and why? (It could be a family member's, a friend's, your local librarian's, etc.) Another interesting question...that I don't know whom to choose... :P

Here are my 11 questions for the others to answer:
1. What is one thing you would like to do this summer?
2. What is one of your favorite memories?
3. If you could name yourself, what name would you choose? Why?
4. What 5 words would you use to describe yourself?
5. If you knew you couldn't fail, what is one thing you would do?
6. Who is your hero (besides Jesus and your family ;P)?
7. What is your greatest fear?
8. What are two qualities that you look for in a friend?
9. What phrase/saying/quote describes you best?
10. What would be your perfect job?
11. What are 7 things that make you smile?

Now to tag 11 bloggers, we'll see if I get that many... xP
Aaand, if you want to do it, just do it and post a comment here letting me know! :)

Never Forget // Memorial Day

"We are forever indebted to those who have given their lives that we might be free." - Ronald Reagan
"We owe this freedom of choice and action to those men and women in uniform who have served this time of need. ...We are forever indebted to those who have given their lives that we might be free." -Ronald Reagan

Millions of soldiers have served our country and given their lives to give us freedom. Never forget that freedom isn't free. Never forget their sacrifice for us. But beyond their sacrifice is the sacrifice that Jesus gave to free His people! His sacrifice is far beyond our comprehension. Because of His sacrifice, His people are freed from sin and death and become part of God's kingdom. Remember this day the soldiers who gave their lives, but most importantly remember Jesus' great sacrifice for His people!

Photos with Chloe!'s been a while! I apologize for my long absence. Life has been insanely busy of late. Can any of you all relate? I don't have time right now for a long blog post, but here are some pictures from a recent photo shoot with a friend. Thanks so much, Chloe, for hanging out with me. I had so much fun! =))
